Some of my favorite kinds of projects to work on are logos and branding. I find it’s fun to take on the challenge of showing the world (and potential customers for a business) who this person is, what they have to offer and how to make them stand out from the competition. Creating brand identities are a chance for me to get creative and really push myself. After all, it’s not about what looks and styles I enjoy using, but what the CLIENT wants.
The Process
A client came to me looking with help to create a brand identity for her custom jewelry business and Etsy shop. The client's name was "Phoenix", so naturally she liked the idea of working an image of a phoenix bird into her logo. It isn’t very often I get to work a mythical creature into a logo design, so I was all the more excited to accept the challenge!
I drew up a few quick sketches to get an idea of what the logo could look like. I came up with a little over twenty possible designs. From hand drawing sketches, I moved on to Procreate to make more refined versions of the logo designs. I included various designs so that the client had options to pick from. Red was an obvious color choice for the logo, but I included a few other colors, such as black, so the client could have an idea of what that could possibly look like.
The Final Product
I had a little too much fun creating possible design concepts for this brand! Business cards, along with stationary and letters that would stand out were designed. Once a design was chosen by the client, I created a few mockups.
